SciFi and Fantasy Art: 2002-The Priestess

This is a portrait of one of my online D&D 3rd edition characters. She is a priestess of the Sun God, Pelor, and about as sweet an innocent as you can get. I was inspired to attempt to do more detailed clothing by Tracy Butler and Tom 'Beldar' Bell's work here on Elfwood, so I forced myself to look at some sideless surcoats, some fabric trim, and some fabric at home to determine drapery. I also had to force myself to stop working on it when I felt myself rushing. As such it took me about 3 weeks instead of 3 days to finish this, but I'm pleased with it. This image is highly reduced to make Elfwood's image size limitation. See a larger version HERE. Derwent pencils on Canson sketch paper, 11 x 14. 6/8/02

The detail in this pic is exquizit, especially the suns on her out-fit! I also think that the shading on the folds of her dress is done very good too. Keep up the great work!! I LOVE IT!!!!! (also please ignore my horribal spelling 2 )

Seriously. I was just talking to a friend about your gallery. Besides the fact that the Megalyth picture is horrifying (^_- ^.^;;; >.> <.<12 it's all immaculately well-drawn. I have terrible handwriting, but have started trying to draw...I'm still at the 'drawing still lifes of coke cans' stage. So envious! But it's also very fun to look at.

Wow. You put so much beatiful detail in your work. Im a fan of Rpgs myself and I do draw but Im just a kid and I don't think I'd be able to go anywhere with it. I had to comment. Im the type to start a drawing and never finish it. I really should get out of that habbit. Great work. ^_^
